Pi Beta Fly

The past two weeks have been such an experience. It's been sorority recruitment.

Recap: I'm a Pi Beta Phi.
Shortened version: Pi Phi.
Nerd version: 3.14 Phi.

In the past, I haven't necessarily liked the two weeks. This year was different. It was a positive environment. It was two weeks of delirium and minimum sleep, but hilarious moments. I got close to several girls in our chapter. Brag moment: we have an amazing chapter. The Lord truly worked throughout our chapter and by the end of it, we got a golden new pledge class. He solved any worry that we could have potentially encountered. I am still astounded.

Sidenote: I have great friends. I seriously do not think I could of been as happy these past two weeks without the kind souls around me. Every day, I had to be there very early. And Every day, I received coffee, food, or even a cake pop to make me smile. It worked.

Our theme this year was Mardi Gras. We greeted the new additions with "Geaux Pi Phi" and had beads everywhere. We also had king cake, which could have been the highlight of the day.

Pi Phi is Stellar.

The Shire.

On August 30th, My roommates and I moved into our house. Think of a beautiful cottage with puppies all around. Yeah, that's what it is like, minus the puppies. We decided to refer to our house as "the shire," because we are nerds and like Lord of the Rings. Since we have been calling it that, we haven't made any new friends, but it's okay. We haven't encountered too many problems yet. We have attempted to make cereal and toast; however, most of them have failed because we do not have all the supplies needed, like milk or a toaster. We wake up every morning and drink hot tea on our couch-- a lovely way to start the day. I decided to dedicate a glass jar on my desk to memories. The jar already has a decent amount of post-it notes. We will look at them at the end of the year and reminisce on good times at the shire. I can't wait for this year with my three wonderful and hilarious roommates.
